The machine can also be programmed to create the exact size of drink you desire. This is a nice feature for busy households.

Easy to use

It is minimalist in its simple design with just one button on the top that controls powering, rinsing making coffee and more. You simply remove the lid, insert a capsule and click to begin the brewing. It is quick to heat and provides various drink options, including a double-shot espresso or a 5 8 or 18-ounce cup of coffee. It also comes with a steaming tool that can create a textured, cafe-like appearance to your drinks. While we love its easy interface and compact size but we did find that the machine didn't perform like more expensive models in making rich-tasting coffee and espresso. And it's not as easy to recycle the capsules as some other machines we tested. This Nespresso wasn't the top pick in our test of side-by-side for these reasons.

Quick to brew

The Nespresso machine can make the perfect cup of coffee in approximately 15 minutes. The hot water from a reservoir enters a pump that pierces the small holes in the top of the pod. The water is then mixed with the ground coffee and drips into the cup. The machine created a rich, flavorful espresso with a hint of bite when we tested it with Jones Brothers and Bestpresso coffee capsules. We tried whole, almond and 2% milks, and all performed well.

Easy to clean
