First, you'll need to prepare the keys for your new car. Before you start, disable the anti-theft by placing blocks underneath your rear wheels and releasing your handbrake. Insert the key into the ignition and then turn the key to the "on" position. This will activate the accessories but will not start the engine. Repeat this 5 times, and then put the key in the "on" position.

You'll then have to buy an additional case for your key fob. They can be found in most auto parts stores and are generally inexpensive. You can purchase them without electronics, based on the model.

To open the case simply push the screwdriver with a flathead into the slot in the middle. Once you split the case, you will have access to all the internal electronic components. Use a flathead screwdriver, which will gently pry open the electronics.
