The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, but it does not have no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.

During our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to eliminate a large amount of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less efficient on shag carpets, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was slower on flooring that was not fully covered, but it recovered speed and performed better than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan, and is better at navigating obstacles. The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that resembles the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S was successful in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from hard flooring. It struggled to deep clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. It also has a tendency to smack into furniture and other objects in its path, but it's able to detect obstacles with sensors. It stops and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstruction. You can then manually guide the device around it and return it to working.

Another excellent feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the wirecutter robot vacuum to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match the type of floor and level of the mess. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to the desired location.
